Beautiful hike. Relatively good incline to get your heart going on the initial bit up. Only one part with ice remaining in early March. However, pretty muddy. Great views, quiet, and lightly trafficked on a Sunday mid-day hike. Be ready to deal with rocks! Overall - Love it! One of my favorite in the DMV area for sure.
Awesome area. We will be back to explore more. I imagine it's a pretty popular place during warmer months. There were multiple vehicles with over nighters on the trail even on a windy and barely 30 degree day.

Excellent hike up to an amazing view. Take lots of water and use bug spray; especially in the summer. We did the hike with our 9 and 6 year olds. The 9 year old did great. We ended up having to take lots of breaks for our 6 year old. Well worth the drive and the hike.
