I parked at US48 and hiked along the ridge to Eagle Rock. Because the trail follows the ridge most of the way, it's rocky, with nice views through the trees. The section between 609 and Eagle Rock is uphill through the mountain laurel.nnThe 'trailhead' as US48 has no parking area, people park on the shoulder right on the VA/WV state line. Cars come by fast, so be extra careful crossing the road and when parking.
A lovely hard hike up to Eagle’s Rock! Great view point off of US-48
Really peaceful. Long ridge trail. Some of the rock overlooks are really good.
Tuscarora Trail runs through the parking lot. Very limited parking, 8-10 cars. Trail is well marked but strenuous up to the view.
Nice hike a little over a mile to the top
