Stopped here to eat picnic lunch with family on road trip. Bathrooms were locked due to time of year. Next door boy scouts building also didn't allow my kids to use their bathroom. Nasty graffiti on fishing dock.
Daniel Boone is one of not too many public boat launch sites on the Kanawha River between the Marmet and Winfield Locks. It's easy access and there are plenty of trailer spaces. The ramp is steeper than ones I've been used to launching from, so be aware and don't back down too fast (like I did the first time) and have to stand on the brake. Also the dock needs some treated boards replaced.
Fun to walk out and look at the water
Slow fishing right now due to winter but a very nice and peaceful place to be. Looking forward to going back.
Nice place... lots of ducks so lot of duck poo if you bring dog...
