Premier High School - Huntsville

This high school was a God-send for our family. Having homeschooled our son since 2nd grade, I knew he was bright and capable. In his mid-teens we started having trouble though. He was flexing his independent muscles (what a young man should do), and not complying with expectations at home (unacceptable behavior~even for maturing young men). After being classified a Freshman at a nearby public school because they would not accept any homeschooling credits, my almost Junior level son had to eat humble pie, but we knew he could not be expected to stay in school 3 more years! Then we found Premier High School of Huntsville. Stanford Achievement tests administered at Premier confirmed our son was at 11th and 12th grade levels academically. He was put in a Junior class and permitted to work at his own pace (as each student is permitted to do) while being encouraged and motivated by a dedicated staff believing in the potential of each and every child to set goals and achieve them. Our son completed his coursework the following April~just a year after being classified a Freshman elsewhere~and graduated with his classmates in June 2012.nPremier High School is small enough to have a family atmosphere yet big enough to have valid credentials. For us, it was the perfect ending to a homeschool experience. For individuals who are capable of getting ahead or those who need to make up for lost time, Premier HS is an ideal setting. The character values emphasized and modelled are of the highest quality. The principal is a compassionate yet firm leader with a gift of believing for the best while holding kids accountable for their actions. The staff is friendly and helpful~not intimidating in the least. If you are looking for something better, the drive to Huntsville is worth it!
