The outside may not be pretty, but there is a good selection of books. About 1/2 the library is adult materials and about 2/3 of the other half are dedicated to kid's materials. My son loves playing in the kids section where there are lots of toys and two educational computers. The remaining space has plenty of seating, a charge bar and 10 computers.nnThey have weekly Spanish and Preschool storytimes year round along with science and craft programming for the kids. Summer programming for the kids is amazing with animals (even a kangaroo and a warthog last year), storytellers, puppeteers, STEM programming, craft programming and more.nnI don't use them, but the adults have ELL classes, Computer Tutor sessions and more. They have a monthly painting class for adults. They also have a notary, but call ahead to make sure he is there.nnIt may not look pretty from the outside, but it's worth taking the time to check it out.

Library is always good but it never has been crowdy. Whatever book you are wishing to read, you should request before going there. This library is far from my home so I just go there when I need to return any book. I never used internet here so don't know about speed of it. Best thing about this library is 100 renewals of books and free book giveaway each Friday. I even won once.. I always love this library and has so many books from here

Nicely situated and looking for a library where I can do some research was devastating. Internet is very slow literally. I recommend that the management do something about this. My work take me around the nation and I must admit this Library is one of very few with slow internet....

Came here to post a flyer for my business, which I had been doing all day at other libraries in the area with no problem. Older black lady who sits at the front desk stopped me from doing so (on the community info board, which is for, you guessed it! Community info ud83dude44) and told me I needed “approval” from the “downtown Chicago library administration”—ud83dude02 I literally just laughed—I’m pretty sure they don’t care about what I put up at the library, which is actually for social services, something that could have benefitted this part of the community, smh. Clearly she just didn’t want my info in “her” library. If you don’t have to deal heavily with the staff, don’t!

I've noticed on a consistent basis, that most of the Caucasian staff is downright rude, unhelpful and will even give African American patrons misleading information, and the runaround at this branch.nnWhen it comes to Caucasian patrons, they bend over backwards.nnThis is a poor reflection of our city's library system. In addition, I have been a library patron for numerous decades. Never have I seen this nasty dynamic in library staff before - ever!!!
