Dickson Taekwondo

I've been here 11 years and have always enjoyed it :)

I am so thankful for this amazing program. My son has been in the after school program almost a year and we have enjoyed it tremendously. We have had to take a break due to personal reasons and the family at Dickson Taekwondo have been wonderful and supportive. My son has learned a lot while in the program and we cannot wait to get him back as soon as we are able.

I write this review of Dickson Taekwondo with confused emotions. Dickson Taekwondo has promoted our daughter’s emotional, physical, and mental development during her 2 years of participation in their after-school program. She has grown and evolved both in her physical ability and talent as well as her emotional confidence and presence. She has grown from a beginner white belt to an intermediate blue belt. The instructors were diligent, patient, and do an amazing job with their students. However, true colors often emerge with change.nnDue to recent developments beyond our influence, we were abruptly informed that Dickson Taekwondo would no longer be picking up our daughter after school. Apparently, since she is now the only student from her school to participate in the after-school program, it is not in Dickson Taekwondo’s financial interest to continue the 3 mile trip to pick her up (even though it is a mere 0.7 miles from another local school where they pick up daily).nnDickson Taekwondo’s after- school pick up program helped our family greatly in making a beneficial extracurricular activity for our daughter actually doable. Now, there is no reasonable way to continue her journey through her martial arts training.nnAmong the things that Dickson Taekwondo has taught our daughter are not just physical abilities but also life long principles that will behoove her for the rest of her life. Such principles include the concept of kindness, the practice of patience, the conjuring of courage, and the gift of never giving up. It is a shame that Dickson Taekwondo does not do as they teach. The resources are available to continue helping our daughter grow physically, emotionally, and mentally. However, since the monetary gain is not there to be captured, it appears Dickson Taekwondo has not chosen to practice their own preaching about perseverance, diligence, honor, and grace. Instead, they have dropped our daughter as nothing but a mere statistic that no longer yields profit.nnAs such, we will be seeking a martial arts alternative for our daughter and hope to find a location that is as focused on their students as they are their profits.

My daughter loves it here. Very friendly instructors. They are very patient with her and all the students.
