Ive been an employee at Highland for 8yrs, and I can honestly say I enjoy being around the people I work with and sincerely love my residents. Highland Park is home for me.
My grandmother was hospitalized for 8 days and became very debilitated. She went to Highland Park for a 20 day skilled stay paid for by medicare. I choose Highland vs rehab due to her age and physical abilities as I knew she could not tolerate the intensity and requirements rehab would expect from her and we had a short time to meet her goal of returning home. Everyone was amazing and I could not say enough for the Nursing staff and Therapy team!! She is now home and doing well. I cannot thank the Highland Park Team enough.
The reviews for this place are biased and unfair because they are mostly written by people that work there. The staff are insensitive and the care my grandmother received while there was extremely questionable. I regret that my grandmother lived her last days at this place. Think twice before you put your loved one in this facility and look into something better. If your loved one is in this facility, make sure you keep any cherished valuables safe for them because things will end up stolen.
One star is to much for this place. The care is very questionable.My mother's diamond necklace was stolen from her neck as she layed dieing. When confronting the home, they offered no help.
