Always like to stop here....meet place
The best tourist traps are the ones that are free. This place is exactly that. There are two sides. Eastbound and down an westbound and down. On either side there is a gas station, elevator, stairs, bathrooms, and convenience store (Note there are bathrooms on both sides and floors. The second floor bathrooms are less crowded.) This place has glass elevators meaning you can see how they work. On the second floor there is a McDonalds, Subway and a Route 66 Gift Shop as well as a short history lesson about Will Rodgers. One of the most unique features is the fact that it is over the highway. When truckers go by you feel like they will scrape on the bottom of the floor. Overall if you need a bite to eat or need some gas you should definitely stop here.
I remembered the archway differently than it is. But it did fascinate my cousins to be in such a huge McDonald's and to get to stomp on all the cars that were passing underneath us. We spend quite a bit of money but that's okay because everyone is happy! So happy to have experienced this with my cousins.
