We headed here (actually the day use area just past this site) to see the comet NEOWISE on 18-July, and were not disappointed - this is probably the darkest area within an easy drive of DFW, and it was well worth it. The comet was great, and we saw more stars than we had in a long time - including a bit of Milky Way. I would expect this to be a great site for meteor showers as well - we saw a spectacular one last night! Nothing fancy - but a great place to go to see the stars!
If you want to ride clean, beautiful, well marked trails near Bonham this is where you want to go.
Around 20 campsites, plenty of trails to hike, water and bathrooms. Very shaded by trees.
Very clean and manicured grounds.
