My favorite place to campnEasy water access for fishing and fair prices for camping site with electric and water. Also has restroom and shower house a short distance away from camping site.

Damsite is a small, quaint campground. Upon inspection from my site, I could easily see that sites 15, 17, & 18 have no tree cover. Site 19 is near the dumpster and vault bathrooms and has one tree. Okay, for fall in Texas, but not Summer in Texas. The host is at site 1 across from 19. Never saw them though. It was very peaceful and well-suited for those more interested in fishing than the camping aspect (grilling, games, etc). Oh, the grill is the fire pit with the removable grill grate, just fyi. When night falls, things get really sketchy. The place is kind of a free-for-all and people come and go at all hours of the night. I saw people that would park just outside of the campgrounds and presumably, crash in their car. Quiet hours are from 10pm-6am, but there was a large group that was obnoxiously loud until past 3am on Saturday night. Which, hey, have fun, but maybe leave the loud cheering and hammering nails into a tree stump game for the daylight hours? Fishing was easy enough to get to by just walking down a slightly steep hill, there are paths all along. If just fishing off the edge by the campground, Texas fishing license needed, if you get on the water in a boat or otherwise, gotta have that OK license. All in all, I might return for more cold-weather camping, but in a RV next time. No more tent camping. It just didn't feel all that safe, and only in a pinch. All the normal sites we camp at were booked, but we really wanted to enjoy the weather outside this weekend. Oh, tons of sharp sticker burrs in the grass (my poor pooch got it bad!) and there is a facility at the front with flushing toilets and showers but proceed with caution there too. The women's side was relatively clean (nothing on the walls and such) and definitely preferred to the vault bathrooms. No soap and by Sunday, no t.p. either. There is a Valero just a couple minutes up the road off 75 and they have everything! Including, much, much, cleaner restrooms. :-)

I was not a fan of this campsite at all! there is no gate or any sort of security, there is also the issue of not having any showers or flush toilets. The horn for water release is sounded every hour. I did not even spend the night, I packed up and went to East Burns Run.
