Frame Masters Cary

I had four sentimental pieces of 80 year old art work that I wanted to be framed. No only were they incredibly careful with my art, but also did a fantastic job helping me find the perfect mat and frame. The finished products were beautiful. These ladies know what they are doing!

These people are true artists. They helped me pick the best frame and mat for a precious family heirloom. It turned out beautiful. Will always use them for all my framing needs.

I will never do business with this company again. I feel like a trainee handled my order because it certainly was not done by a professional. Last month (09/2020) I took 6 pictures to Frame Masters in Cary; 1 for a new frame and matt and the other 5 were for new matts only. For those last 5, 2 had silver metal frames and the other 3 had silver wooden frames; all 5 had been purchased at another frame shop several years ago and all 5 were in great condition when I took them to Frame Masters. The day I picked up my pictures a thin clear wrapping was put around each of them. The lady waiting on me stacked all 5 of the silver framed pictures on top of each other to carry out to my car and handed me the one with the new wooden (non-silver) frame to carry. She placed them in my front passenger car seat and, once I got home, I noticed that the bottom picture, one with a silver metal frame, had several scratches on the front of the wrapping. Once I unwrapped it, I saw that two of the scratches had gone through the thin wrapping and had left ugly scratches on the front of the frame. It appears that the wire and screws and hook on the back of one frame scratched the front of the frame stacked underneath it. That thin clear wrapping they use is just not thick enough to keep that from happening. Furthermore, one of the wooden silver frames had a tiny piece of wood missing in the top right corner. When I called to complain they had me bring those pictures back to their store. For the wooden frame they filled in the gap and touched up the paint as best as they could but said that silver is a hard color to match and it was obvious that the paint they used did not match the rest of the frame. The young lady waiting on me actually remarked that she remembered my frames being “beat up” when I brought them in. I held up my frame that had been in perfect condition when I brought it in and did not have a scratch on it and said “you’re calling this beat up?!”. Actually, the only frame that was not in great condition when I brought it in was the one that I had them replace. For the metal frame they said that they could not repair the damage, nor did they offer to refund any part of the $624.68 I had paid them, nor did they offer me a discount on any future work. They said that I could not prove that they caused the damage. To make matters worse, for the silver wooden frames, this store did very sloppy work. Those pictures came in with black paper on the back of the frames which a worker at their store replaced with a lighter color paper. However, all around the bottom edges on the frame backs you can still see several strips of the original black paper and in some areas, part of a strip will be sticking up because it was not properly trimmed. Also, at least one of the hooks screwed into the back of a frame to hold the wire is sticking out past the edge. .
