Always a bad experience when it comes to the actual vets. Horrible at doing stitches. Charge you an arm and a leg even if they do a horrible quality job. The vet even had an attitude. They say they are on call for emergencies but they aren't at all! You could have a dieing dog and they will still tell you to drive 1-2 hours away. If you love your pets dont go here go to South Street Veterinary in Lenox. Even if it is a little further you can rely on them when you have an emergency. Never taking any pet there ever again.
Valley Vet treated our dog when no one else would take the time of day to give us an appointment! Having just moved to the area, my daughter's service dog needed emergency care 2 days after our arrival at our new house. He had a fever of 106 and an infection that had swollen his face up so much that he was having trouble breathing. Every other vet I called required that we already have established service to been seen for an emergency and would not make an exception to see him even knowing that he may die. After being turned down repeatedly since we weren't clients, I was so happy when not only did Valley Vet say to bring him on in, but they actually cleared a spot in their schedule to be able to see him and perform an emergency surgery. Without their help, I don't think he would have made it through the night. Today, he is feeling much better and recovering as expected. I can't thank them enough for the care and compassion that they showed to our family.

Dr. Shanahan is THE most caring and professional person that I have ever known. She treats your pets as if they were her own. I have used Valley Vet ever since having pets and I could not be happier with the quality of care that they give them. When Covid began and places were shutting down, Dr. Shanahan worked with her staff to institute safety protocols that allowed her to stay open so that she could continue to do exactly what she does.....care for animals. I can not say enough about her entire staff.....Dr. Shanahan is the best around and I would never hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a person to care for their pets!
I was visiting the Berkshires with my cat who developed a UTI. I called about four vets who wouldn’t see her, and my vet back home wouldn’t do anything. Valley Vet took her right away and fixed her up with antibiotics. Dr. Shanahan and the whole team were kind and really helped us out in a pinch. I so appreciate them. Highly recommended.
