Due to posts showing horrible care of the animals and lack of transparency with the community, I would not recommend this place. While these allegations have been surfacing, it is clear and apparent that the administration and board has a lack of professionalism with their community as they refuse to provide the evidence to counter those allegations and to provide adequate evaluation of their shelter. I have worked as a Feline Coordinator at the Stone County S.P.C.A. years ago, and the shelter never looked like this one. I understand running a shelter is hard and difficult with limited funding but quality care of the pets should be the utmost importance to any establishment within the shelter industry.

If I could give this shelter zero stars I would.nIt is absolutely disgusting the state this shelter is in. Its filthy, the animals are severely malnourished and not taken care of properly. They store dead animals in plastic store bags in the freezer-when there is enough space-other wise they just sit out in a plastic bag. Animals are constantly dying here, even when simple veterinarian care would help them. Do not bring an animal here because even if you think you are saving them, you are probably actually giving them a death sentence.

Ms critters does a lot of good in the community with the homeless pets. They have some good employees that help take care of pets and keep up with cleaning and bathing and exercising pets. I believe they even do some training

Adopted a female black lab (Celine) on Dec. 23, and the employees at the shelter were outstanding. And this was despite the number of animals being taken in, dropped off, people stopping by, etc. The volunteers there were also top notch - Sadie in particular.

Funny seeing all of these “good” reviews yet circulating the local area is nothing but pictures of cruelty displayed by this establishment. It should shut down immediately. Very pathetic that people are THIS LOW !!!
