This review is being written in real time. This is a beautiful hotel with amenities you would expect with the Bass Pro name ; however, I am being very generous with a 2 rating due to several factors.n1. The hotel staff has been alerted by me on at 10:30 and again at 12:40 A.M. of uncontrolled noise from the adjacent room that that could only be described as a domestic issue. Adults screaming, children banging and jumping and screams that woke my wife and I from a dead sleep. While the staff did come to the room, the problem was not dealt with.n2. The room we are currently in is 201 side closest to the Bass Pro Store in Springfield. The construction of the hotel offers no baffling from the heavy traffic and road sounds.nThis hotel is beautiful with great rooms. The issues are things that you should not to deal with at a hotel rated this well at this price point.nIf you are looking to have a refreshing visit to Springfield you may want to look for other options.
Overall this is hotel is fine. Biggest issue is with cost to value. For the cost, this hotel is nowhere near up to what it should be, both for a BPS facility and compared to other hotels. With that said, this hotel should fall into a less than $100 a night stay, not well above. Clearly, an older hotel was revamped with an outdoor theme, which is great; however, attention to detail in rooms was lacking. You shouldn't slap on some wood accents, throw in some wood furniture, put on the BPS name and expect the same rates as larger hotel chains. Walls are paper thin and updates where rushed with shower inserts, hardware changes, and some rustic furniture. With all of that said, if rates where at a reasonable price point, closer to $80-100 a night, most of this review would be irrelevant, but at $130 it should be on par with other options in the area.
The staff was very friendly. The decor was great. It was very loud kids running up and down the hall. Bathroom was dirty. Hair all over the floor dirt behind the toilet. Pool water very cloudy and hot tub water was brown. I would have expected this being a bass pro shop hotel they would take more pride in the hotel. Like I said the staff was great. It is over priced for a small room and it not being very clean and having mold all over the tubs. I would highly recommend taking a small drive to another hotel if you plan on visiting the aquarium.
I've stayed here twice recently and there are many things I love about this hotel...it's clean, housekeeping is friendly, and the decor is great. The only reason I can't give it five stars is because of the noise. Not outside noise but people constantly shutting the doors across and down the hall. And it's LOUD....and in the room next to mine I heard someone clear their throat....just to give a perspective on how thin the walls are. The shower is amazing and the beds are really comfortable, but if it's quiet you are hoping for... I have yet to experience that here, unless it's closer to 10pm...sometimes 11. Those issues are not the fault of the hotel but I'm sure that the more people that come and hear it for themselves will either make certain to spend one night only or not return at all.
Very good customer service. Breakfast was brought to our room (dining room closed due to Covid) and was pretty good. Close to Starbucks and across the street from Bass Pro. The rooms are very small. We had two adults and two kids in a room with two Queen beds and we were crowded. The beds are NOT comfortable. Mattress offers no support, and we are avg size. The pool water and hot tub were very cloudy.
