Easy mostly flat hiking trail through the woods. You'll see some vernal ponds too. I stumbled across frogs, small birds, an eastern box turtle (first time seeing one), mushrooms, and lots of mosquitoes. They completely destroyed my arms even though I was wearing big repellent. Beware: wear a long sleeve shirt!!

The trail is through a stand of conifers and regrettably today it was just too sloshy, My boots were sinking down to the ankles

The forests here are somewhat unusual compared to central and western Maryland. Even in the last days of September, we were eaten alive by mosquitoes and that was with bug spray. Made it difficult to enjoy the trail, but it's wetlands, so it's to be expected.

Beautiful location with a particularly wondrous quality. This place felt so still and yet lively at the same time. Branches would snap in the distance, whirlwinds rustled the leaves, and the stillness of it all would be broken by beautiful bird calls. Plenty of spiders so if that's not your thing, be warned! Still a great place to hike in my opinion though!

Too many bugs, specially mosquitoes and deerflies
