Morning Glory Windmill was originally built on Mill Hill north of Squire’s Pond by Samuel Ryder. In 1870, the windmill was hit by lightning and could no longer operate. It was then moved to Holbrook Avenue and was attached to this house found in the accompanying photographs.nnPrivate Residence. Address: 140 Holbrook Avenue, Wellfleet, MA 02667nnFound on Cape Cod, this historic windmill sits today along Holbrook Avenue in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. It has not had any vanes or moving parts post 1870. It is however a spectacular site to drive by. One of the few remaining historic old windmills still in existence in the United States. The old windmills is the reason why I continue to visit Cape Cod.
