one word. DISGUSTING.nbroken door jambs, cigarette holes in blankets, comforters, and sheets. puddle of dried yellow liquid in our shower (assumed it was urine since it smelled awful). the hotels cable went out constantly (about every few minutes) for the day we were there. and we also could not use the internet because it also refused to stay connected for more than 2 minutes, making planning stops for our trip impossible nearly. the room smelled like mildew thanks to a fridge leaking all the way to the bed across the floor.nnwe canceled our stay after the first night and they charged us for 3 nights stay. all in all my advice to you, there is an econo lodge less than 5 miles away, for maybe 7$ more a night but 100X more cozy, sanitary, and worth it.
Don’t get me wrong the people were nice, BUT I got rooms for several days and the maids just kept barging in even after I had told them no or to go away and just stood in the room while we was trying to sleep. Then come to find out there’s black mold! We’re in room 207 and each room beside me has mold all in it from water damage, in the walls, on the mattresses everywhere, my husband is currently on his way to the ER for black mold poisoning because he can not breathe in this room. Such a waste of 200$
The room I got was dirty. There were dirty plastic utensils on the floor next to the beds. Half smoked cigarettes on the headboards. The sink looked like someone had thrown up in it and didn't do a good job cleaning it. The bed sheets didn't look like they were changed because they had stains, holes and a weird smell. And there were roaches in the room. I didn't complain or ask to be moved because some of the staff made me feel uncomfortable when I would simply smile and say hello to them. Almost as if I were inconveniencing them by my presence alone. So I thought it would just be better for my to go to Walgreens to buy cleaning products and clean it myself. I've stayed in a lot of cheap hotel rooms and never had an issue anywhere else I've traveled; but I guess you get what you get for the cheap price you paid here. If you're visiting New Orleans to be a tourist, spend a little more money and stay closer to the French Quarter.
This place is in a real shady part of town. Like, real shady. But if you can roll with that, you're fine. We got room 130 on the ground floor. The pool was closed for maintenance but there was some kind of barbecue at the pool side at night. Noise here can tend to be loud some nights, as there seem to be people living at his hotel. We didn't have any trouble but I wouldn't take public transport out here if you're visiting, as we heard the area itself is not the best. Hotel room itself was clean enough, no real issues apart from the smoke alarm battery which was on its last legs so it kept bleeping in a monotonous, depressing tone. Room service didn't bother us too much, but provided fresh towels and toilet paper upon request. You also get two pillows each so that's nice.
Was told at check in room may not be cleaned well as staff doesn’t always clean it all. Got to my room and it had no towels, no remote, no shower curtain, no alarm clock, and no phone, and some of the outlets didn’t work and the bed had debris on it and the toilet seat had urine on it and the toilet had toilet paper in it and the curtains didn’t shut all the way. Was told house keeping would be back by in a couple hours, they never came by. Very strong scent on urine in the room.
