Despite some really ugly reviews (I blame unrealistic expectations and a hell of a lot of sociopaths) I PROMISE you that this is a well-run hospital with some of the best Physicians I have ever seen! I am recently retired and my health has fallen apart. I don't want to seek medical care, but I have to...and the good people at the University of Utah Hospitals have helped on so many levels! Please believe me...the care I received was compassionate, efficient and thorough. And everyone...from the receptionists to the phlebotomists to the Physicians themselves...best I have ever seen!

I thought my debt with them was taken care of, because I sent in application for financial assistance and never received a letter or calls for payment after that. Now that I filed my taxes, I got a letter from the state saying that my refund was sent to the Univeristy to pay off my debt. If I would have known I still owed them money I would have paid.

Good Lord. The paranoia of opioid addiction has hit every "doctor" in Utah. Took my wife into urgent care with chest pain. Once the PA ruled out it wasn't the heart but was chostochondritus and admitted to her it was very painful and could last 6 to 8 weeks, in spite of Ibuprofen causing her stomach problems, narcotics are "against the rules" and recommended we go see a primary care physician or go to the ER. You've got to be kidding. All the PA did was diagnose a problem, but treatment is for someone else because everybody in pain must be a doctor shopper, potential addict, or pill popper. Absolutely ridiculous!! Just because other stupid people can't control themselves nor take medication as prescribed this does not entail that every person in pain can't get some relief from them without becoming addicted. Grow up "doctors" and treat patients individually instead of blanketing them all as addicts. My wife hasn't gone to a doctor in pain for six years, but the one time she actually needs help, she gets told to ice it and rest. I am disgusted at our "treatment." 10 years of med school to tell people "this hurts, but sorry, you are potentially an addict." The argument that people turn to heroin because they get addicted to pain pills will soon become people turn to heroin because they can't get a real doctor to compassionately treat them to alleviate real pain. Ridiculous!!
