Heard a young man speaking of suicide at a local store. Told the manager to call 911. Port Allen police department answered. They spoke with the young man in respect and terms to help him. After an ambulance was called, they even followed him to reassure him. Two young women and PA#8 were the officers. Respect to them...and gratitude. Thanks also to Acadian Ambulance.

The officers and detectives at PAPD were some of the nicest and most helpful people I have ever come in contact with. My car was stolen in EBR and the guy ran a stop sign in Port Allen and Officer Darden got after him. She chased him throughout WBR and into EBR where she finally caught him. Without her and all the other officers in WBR my vehicle may never have been found and this vile man, Beau Martin, may have gotten away with all the heinous crimes he’s committed. I honestly can’t thank you enough. You never made me feel like any of this was my fault or that I deserved it and sadly that’s not something I can say about other departments involved in my case. I admire all of Y’all a courageous and selfless acts. I commend you for a job well done. Once again, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I can’t even begin to convey how thankful my family and I am for all of you but I hope that this is a good way to start.

I called the police to report trespassers at my home. I wasn’t home at the time but my camera sent a notification to my phone. The PAPD arrived lighting fast and when the perpetrators were spotted next door at a vacant house, they gave chase running through a muddy field to apprehend the suspects. As a new resident to Port Allen I am very happy knowing we have such an effective and professional police force. Keep up the good work PAPD!

The police chief in my opinion tends to treat white peoples with disdain, overall he is not a fair man.
