This place gives you an access to Canal Service Road which is a dedicated for walking, biking, rollerblading, etc. It is a scenic path with good pavement and nice amenities (benches, piers, seasonal bathrooms, etc). If you are into fishing watch out for the passing boats that often leave a wake.
