Was given a reservation number and went to pick up and there were no vehicles to rent out despite being told there was. Our group is now stuck in Columbus without transportation. Unacceptable.

Be careful w/Alamo- This desk person does not want to view & take the car then you will automatically get $1000 bill for something they found wrong with the car months after you have rented it.

The Columbus airport is a very small size airport that is void of the traffic brought by large airports. Due to the size, the car rental availability is very limited. Expect to have the vehicle chosen for you. Our vehicle was booked ahead of time and ready at the time of our arrival, so no issues there. The Alamo car rental staff was friendly and accommodating. Alamo vehicles are well kept and maintained; we felt very comfortable in the vehicle assigned.

My wife rented a car, we were supposed to be able to pick it up at 5pm. It’s now 920pm and despite the woman at the counter guaranteeing us cars were on their way, still we wait. I haven’t seen my family in seven months and this is taking a full day, of only three I’ll have with them, away. The woman at the counter has no clue what is happening with the cars or who to call, her manager apparently is unavailable. She offered my wife a small discount, nowhere near equal to the frustration we feel. I’ve called customer service and they too have no answers. There were about seven other people in this same situation.

Bait and switch. I reserved a car and was given a quote. Upon arrival they told me they had zero cars available. After 2 hours waiting, a car came in, however it was a luxury vehicle and they would not honor my reservation. I had to take the car because they said another car might not come in that day!nI am still trying to get the nearly $200 difference back.
