Very bad experience here. I would never recommend them to ever repair or solder any jewelry. Not only did they do such an extremely poor job repairing an antique Art Deco diamond broach for me, their ability to solder a wedding band and engagement ring was so bad, I’m embarrassed to wear it. It was uneven, unaligned, and simply unprofessional.nnI dropped off both items mentioned above at the same time, along with several other pieces. The two items were completed within the same order, but I still had to return to pick up some other pieces they were working on. My husband and I picked up the first part of the order, which included the ring and the broach, right before heading out of town. Once I was able to look over the pieces carefully, I immediately noticed their poor condition. I should have called them right then and complained but they still had some of our other jewelry, so we decided to wait to let them know of our concerns once the other items were completed and we would be able to talk with them face to face.nnWhen my husband stopped by to pick up our final order a week later, I was working and unable to join him. He let the lady who assisted him know right away that we were not happy with those two items from the first order. Cortes was not in that day, but the female employee said she would certainly let him know. We waited, and heard nothing. No one ever reached out to us or made any effort to make things right. I can only guess that either the employee never told Cortes or he doesn’t care about his customers.nnAfter waiting several months, I decided to take the pieces to another jewelry store in the area to fix Cortes’ mistakes. My thinking at the time was, if they couldn’t do right the first time, why would I trust them a second time? Experiencing what I experienced, I would never recommend them to ever repair or solder any jewelry.nn(Seeing his teenage son working on the jewelry in the back should have been my first clue to turn around and leave. It truly looked like someone soldered my rings with their eyes closed.)

I am so happy with my custom sapphire ring. Cortes Jewelry used some of my smaller diamonds around a 7 carat sapphire that I was a little afraid to do, but I could Not be happier. I trusted Mr. Cortes and it paid off! Thank you it is wonderful.
