I'm reducing from five stars to two stars. That is based on the drastic changes in inventory and display, and I will likely revisit, as I'm reviewing the store that was, rather than is. I'm not even going to mention the extreme disgust I experienced upon seing the festive selection of artificial Christmas trees, when Halloween decor should just be starting to appear...nThe good values and customer service which Snows is famed for remain excellent, but this is not the store it was. Snows used to be a very deluxe hardware store; now it's little more than Barbo's Furniture with small appliances. I realize that times change and businesses, to stay successful, must follow, but today I made the trek to Orleans, secure in the knowledge that Snows would have what I need. They didn't. The hardware section, always quirky and yet encyclopedic, has been gutted, and mostly replaced with tasteful rugs and mats suitable for any condo. The stationery section is gone and likewise 90% of the once extensive hobby and toy section. Even the paint department seems drastically reduced in scope. Snows is now the perfect place to furnish your new Cape Cod home, from doormats to guest soaps. Great for a lot of people, but that's not what I need.

We visit this store every time we come to the Cape and I always found things to buy - pillows, kitchen ware, bathroom stuff, even small furniture. Things were pricy, but always very good quality. We stop in 4 to 5 times per year and spent a minimum of $300. You get what you pay for. Since late 2019 the store has gone dramatically down hill. For lack of a better description, it's a mess. I don't know who is responsible or what is going on. Even the employees are not as friendly or helpful as they used to be. Are they going out of business? If they are, it would be very sad. If they are not, the person makingnthese changes should rethink what they are doing.

First off EVERYTHING is so overpriced even if we are in Cape Cod. Second the customer service is HORRIBLE. When in the store almost impossible to get an associate to help you but I realized today that over the phone they are even less helpful and downright rude. There are hardware stores in town that literally bend over backwards to help their hardware stores in town that literally bend over backwards to help their customers & this shop price gouges you and can't even have the decency to treat you well while they're doing it. I own a local business and I will never spend another dime. What you can't get at the hardware store is readily available for a quarter of the price online. Forget this place.

We bought a very nice patio table umbrella at Snow's. After being pretty much ignored by staff, one gentleman (Rich, I think) came into the outdoor area and was extremely helpful! Super nice and friendly, honestly telling me his opinion on what I was considering buying. I really appreciated that!
