Went to Deseret Industries Thrift Store. Large selection of second hand merchandise, both clothing and accessories. Also appliances, books and other sundry items. Great selection of bridal dresses. Prices vary from great to so-so. Proceeds go to help poor. Workers are being trained to find gainful employment in general workforce.
Such an amazing place! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is truly such an amazing organization.
I loved volunteering there i loved every minute of it man i sure do miss it a lot!
I am absolutely amazed at what the church is done with welfare Square. We had a friend get out of jail and be able to earn some clothes in the mail by working at Deseret industries at welfare Square. There are a lot of options for those who are with low income or without means of providing for themselves. I’m grateful for the Church of Jesus Christ for doing this.
It is amazing how much good can be done when people organize and focus their efforts. This is a great experience, especially if you are interested in learning how to help others. You certainly don't have to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to get behind their efforts to assist as many as possible.
