I received a referral to Dr Bevilacqua for a shoulder pain. At my first appointment he insisted it was a swollen bursitis and gave me a steroid shot then sent me on my way. Within 5 days the pain was so extreme I started calling again and I was told that they do not do pain management. An MRI was never ordered and he kept down playing my pain. Given the fact that the answering system at SMOC is ridiculous it took me days to even get an answer. I finally get a response from a physician assistant who put in the MRI request. At this point I'm so frustrated with the service I called my insurance company and requested a new doctor. Long story short the swollen bursitis turned out to be a torn rotator cuff. Upon reading the reviews I now realize I should have done my homework before even going there.

I only wish I could give 0 stars. I've been seen here since February/March and been told I had several herniated discs. After my mri the other day tho, Dr. Fox claims I have nothing wrong with my discs at all but a minor tear.nWent through months of just getting epidurals which did nothing more than cause pain at injection site, no relief. Had a discogram which caused the pain in my legs to shoot to a 15, and left my actual back in pain that was at a 10 (something I'd never experienced before, just burning). When I asked about this and the fact they were still hurting at the same levels over 48 hours later, I was just told it'd go away. Asked for referrals to other doctors who might be able to figure the issue such as a neurologist who specializes in nerves but nope...got offered one to a podiatrist.

I have been dealing with this place for the last 3 plus years for my neck and they can't get it right. They keep giving me medicine and injections and what not. My condition is getting worse over time and all they want to try things that aren't going to work. I saw a PA originally and he did not come back and say the same thing my MRI results said so they have missed diagnosed my condition but keep wanting to try different things on me like a lab rat. I am hoping I can see the actual orthopedic Dr but that may be a while because last time I tried scheduling a appointment to see him it was going to be a month or two away. I think I am going to start looling for other options. The front desk staff are very nice and so are the other staff but the Drs and PAs should actually read the MRI radiology report and go by that seeing how the radiologist have specialized in that area and knows more about that than a PA.

If I could make it a 0 I would. Went to the emergency room on Wednesday and was told my ankle was fractured. Need to see a doctor at SMOC right away. I understand it was Thanksgiving week. Could not be seen till the following Tuesday. Called Monday morning because since I was seen at the hospital I had fallen again. Also stated that the boot the hospital had given me was not working it was cutting into my ankle. The pain pills where affecting my brain injury. It was stated to me it didn't matter that I feel again. Just quick taking the pain medication. Do whatever I needed to do for the boot. There needs to be so some sort of support for a fracture. They just don't give a dam about there patients. I have not even been seen yet.
