I have seen Dr. Malik on several occasions and I would recommend his office to anyone seeking a knowledgeable gastroenterologist. Dr. Malik was able to take a serious illness and the uncomfortable topics of discussion surrounding that illness feel more manageable and easier to talk about. He thoroughly explained everything that was going on and had a great “bed side manner”. He listened to me and my concerns and took the time to actually see me, look me in the eyes and that alone was a huge stress reliever. Knowing someone is hearing you when you’re experiencing uncomfortable and painful issues with your health is an invaluable asset.

I had been a patient for the past few years and had recommended my son to him. My son was scheduled for a procedure and I had no knowledge of it until the Friday evening before the Monday that he was scheduled to have the procedure done when he asked if I could drop him off and pick him up . My concern about visiting Medical Facilities and anywhere else during the Covid-19 outbreak. (High risk individuals and children in household). I also had concerns of him being alone in a Doctors office with me not being able to sit in the waiting room due to the fact that I had a family member in another state to walk into a Doctors office alone for a scheduled procedure and went into cardiac arrest and his wife did not find out until hours later after receiving a call from the hospital that he was rushed in and was deceased. A staff member had him to return my sons phone call and first of all that started off unprofessional when he addressed my son as MY BOY. He was very rude to him when he stated he wanted to cancel his appt due to concerns of the spread of Covid-19 and responded to my son that if the virus is gonna spread then it's gonna spread. That was unprofessional as well and he also stated to my son that it was not right to cancel an appointment the morning of an appointment and that he would be billing him anyway. I could not just not voice my opinion about it. I decided to reach out to him via email from my chart about this situation. He returned my call that evening asking me what did I want him to do and telling me that my son is 26 years-old and went on and on. My response to him was I wanted him to apologize to my son which he never did. I expressed my concerns about the spread of Covid-19 which he wasn't trying to hear. The conversation got so out of hand I stated to him that I would be reporting this situation and kindly hung up the phone on him. He decided to respond via email almost 24hrs somewhat apologizing to me and stating he did understand my concerns. I do have the proof I need while filling this complaint and I will never recommend another to him. I'm currently scheduled to see another Gastroenterologist in August. By the way my son did receive a $35 non cancelation bill.

He is a very thorough and patient doctor. Dr. Malik was respectful to both myself and spouse. He made time on a non office day to see me and continues to find answers. There aren't many doctors who truly listen to their patients but he is one of them. What a great find for a gastroenterologist. I would highly recommend him and his practice. He is very recognized by his peers as well.
