Since a collection of brilliant individuals at James Madison University decided I only need 53 seconds to get from my online class at home to my on campus class with no bus routes scheduled, I appreciate being charged $100 to park in an empty parking lot for 50 minutes. The part I am especially enthused by is the charge of $100. It is reasonable to expect a charge of 25, maybe even 50 dollars from a college student paying $20,000 annually to this school. $100, however, makes it clear that the true goal of parking services has nothing to do with allowing fair parking regulation. This creates a beautifully artistic allusion to how awful this school is in all other respects.
Got fined 100.00 for parking somewhere for no more than 15 minutes because I was dropping textbooks off to a freshman and she was running late. Appealed it but it was denied, all they care about is taking college students money which a lot of us don’t even have. They just all around suck.
Parking passes are stupid overpriced and even after buying one, they ticket you if you even so much as think about breathing in the wrong parking spot.
They take pride in giving tickets to members of greek life, so be careful if you have letters on your car! I overheard one of them bashing sorority girls
JMU profits off of student's money by handing out tickets left and right when the university is closed, when lots are empty, and just to ruin your day. They charge $300 for parking passes and then do not give money back when the university closes for COVID.
