Gorgeous display of truly fine quilts. Several shows were featured throughout the museum making it well worth the trip. You aren't rushed in any way and can get truly close to see the stitching and fabrics. Just NO Touching, of course.

At first, I was not expecting much from the Virginia Quilt Museum (VQM) as I had not heard much about it. While visiting my girlfriend in Harrisonburg, Virginia - I decided to stop by and see what they had to offer. Spanning three floors, the Virginia Quilt Museum is not so much a history museum as it is a contemporary showcase of modern quilts. Though there are some historical pieces in here, I was pleasantly surprised at the modern adapations of the craft that they had on display. I would post pictures, but you really have to see it in person! All in all, I enjoyed my visit greatly.
