Nightmare.....directions to the area are confusing. You end up on a road that keeps climbing with absolutely no room to move over, passing homes, no trespassing signs. No clue where you are allowed or not allowed. HUGE disappointment. Was looking forward to this area after seeing photos. My driver refused to go any further.

Mountain camping, hiking, and fishing at its best. Have not hunted here.

This was an absolute nightmare. I specifically called the DGIF rep for RWMA the day before and asked the following: Do we need four wheel drive to reach the main parking area because we have a stick shift, “no you do not”, should we print a google maps or will GPS take us where we need to go using the address online, “nope all you need to do is use gps”, will all entrances be open to the public, “yep! We’re open 24 hours with an access pass!” We did exactly that. This took us up a road with a steep incline just barely big enough for a car unpaved/gravel to a random drive way with no trespassing signs. We tried the alternative route and it took us a different way with same outcome. Never reached the “parking lot” he referred to and ruined our car in the process. Worst experience.

This review is only with the hunting perspective. I went for hunting in the Rapidan WMA and TOTALLY disappointing. As soon as I reached the Rapidan WMA, few locals followed me with Dogs and left dogs in the hunting area. This kind of strategy is legal corruption, which means, they want to disappoint outsider hunters using legal strategies. Overall, it’s my third WMA and I’m very much disappointed with management and flaws in the rules set for WMAs. Few local groups or people control the hunting and its very hard for an outsider to enjoy big game as paid for with his hard earned money.
