Beautiful park to visit and be outside. Take a blanket or a chair and enjoy the sunshine. Pack a lunch and relax. We walked the trails through the Japanese and Italian gardens, saw the bison, bobcat, eagles, raptors, elk, bear and a hawk in a nearby tree. Beautiful flowers throughout with sculptures and history too! Donation boxes available to keep this TREASURE open and available to all. You have a wonderful city as we were visiting from Roanoke.

So, so beautiful and expansive! Room for everyone to do anything: walk, have a picnic, play catch, take photos, or just sit and read. The landscaping is spectacular and though the house is currently closed the grounds and exterior are gorgeous. The gardens are a must see. Parking is available and easy. Looking forward to returning!

This place is truly incredible. I've been to many parks and gardens, but this one easily tops some of my long standing favorites. Great place to take the dog, kids, your picnic basket, camera, etc. The Italian and Japanese gardens were definitely the highlights for me... and many others judging by the amount of people there. I did not get to tour the house due to covid, but hope to when I return one day.nnThis place is good for the soul.

I always come here whenever I visit Richmond. It is absolutely beautiful and a must go if you've never been. A warning, the Japanese bridge and stepping stones were closed off. Some animal exhibits were still open. Also be careful of the geese poop, there was a lot!

Beautiful place to walk around. Have a picnic, and throw. Football. There is a suggested $5.00 admission fee but once again it is suggested not required. They had sheep, goats, eagles, horses, cows etc. to look at. The maymont House is beautiful from the outside. We went on a Sunday and they were not open to view from the inside but we want to go back to see what it looks like. We even found a spot to sit and watch the train go by over the River. A peaceful place to visit.
