Fun stop. Drove by a few times past few months to get to Longwood University and finally stopped. It's free and you get to see only a few old trains. I didn't go in building just checked outside. Definitely stopping by again soon with my kids

Good if you have little kids that are interested in trains. Definitely plan on doing something else near there takea only about 30 mins to get through it.

This museum is supported and run by volunteer former employees of the Norfolk and Western Railway (part of Norfolk Southern Railway since the merger with Southern in 1982). The volunteers were very friendly and happy to answer questions about the railway. They have a diesel and steam locomotive as well as freight and passenger rolling stock on the site. Inside are smaller artifacts of the Norfolk and Western Railway which had a large presence in the town. There is also a large model railroad inside that the kids will love. The town is still host to a large classification yard on the Norfolk Southern line between Roanoke and Norfolk, located behind the museum. Donations are requested but admission is free. Well worth a visit if you find yourself passing through Crewe on route 460.

This is a very neat railroad museum. I love being able to see the old locomotive.
