Todd and I stayed at the inn for two nights. The location and grounds were beautiful. The house was well maintained, clean and the breakfast that Chris made each of the two mornings, was simply amazing. Cliff provided so much detail about the property and was well versed on its history. Both Chris and Cliff were very welcoming and really made us feel welcome.nnWe had a relaxing weekend and look forward to the next visit. While we were unable to order any baked goods due to time constraints, we will certainly remember to call ahead and do so next time.nnElizabeth and Todd

This inn was all we could have hoped for. The building itself is simply amazing and the attention to detail in the period decor was stunning. The owners couldn’t have been nicer or more knowledgeable about the history of the property. Breakfast was delicious and they even boast an antique shop where I was able to pick up some really neat vintage jewelry. More than that, the view is absolutely spectacular. We will definitely be back!

Stayed for an evening at this wonderful home. Cliff and Chris have most definitely set their bed and breakfast a bar above even the best places my wife and I have stayed. Cliff knows the history of this 17th century manor home along with all of the gorgeous period furniture and artwork. While Chris seemed to work behind the scenes his efforts in making a delicious breakfast was greatly appreciated. I could spend a week studying the trim work and hearing about how Cliff and Chris have restored this beautiful property. This is a must stay property for those interested in architecture, history, and restoration. This all before enjoying the sheer luxury of the rooms, playing pool on a two and half ton, eleven foot pool table, enjoying the views from the back patio with the deer, the pond, and the views of the Blue Ridge and the sheer peacefulness of watching a sunrise creep over the mountain from an incredibly comfortable and cozy bed.nnThank you so much to the owners, Cliff and Chris, for opening this wonderful home.nnWe hope to make this a regular stay on our trips and would really like to stay at Christmas because I just can't even imagine how wonderful that would be.

Amazing experience! Owners Cliff and Chris are fantastic hosts in this gorgeous estate home, the coziness of which is rivaled only by its breathtaking views of the mountains, pond, and rolling hills. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, and breakfast was delightful and filling. Highly recommend staying here for a night or weekend and taking advantage of the nearby parks/hiking, restaurants in Lexington, or just relaxing in the rocking chairs with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. We’ll be back!!

Our 3 night stay at the Inn at Forest Oaks in January was phenomenal! We are innkeepers as well, with high expectations, and Cliff and Chris exceeded those expectations . The 11,000 sq. ft. mansion is beautifully restored with amazing woodwork, tin ceilings, hardwood floors, and gorgeous period wallpaper. The decor is amazing as well, as it is filled with high end antiques, oriental rugs, unique accessories, chiming clocks, and interesting old books. We spent each evening reading in the different rooms of the house and playing pool in the billiards room. We just couldn't stop admiring all the details of this gorgeous place! The views of the mountains off the back porch are remarkable as well, even in the winter. We were served a bountiful and delicious breakfast each morning in the beautiful dining room, where we were able to chat with Chris and Cliff, who always had interesting stories to tell. They are both so friendly and welcoming, and we loved every minute of our conversations. One morning, Cliff took us downstairs to the antique store where he sells unique vintage jewelry and other accessories, and also showed us the bakery kitchen where Chris makes homemade pies. His lemon meringue pie is divine! Even though we simply loved hanging out at the inn, we did venture out one day to Natural Bridge National Park, which is awesome! We highly recommend at a stay at this inn. We have been to close to 100 B&Bs in our lifetime and this one is the most beautiful! Cliff and Chris work tirelessly on property, keep the inn impeccably clean, and run things smoothly and professionally. We admire them both!
