Get to destination on time and the bus operators are friendly.
Times are tough so taking the bus is a big help to many. However, it can't to be difficult to find someone to maintain a clean bus station. The sidewalk in front os so filthy with gum and dirt that nobody in their right mind would set their luggage down or even want to walk on the sidewalk let alone I saw at least three huge rats running between the bushes. I don't think it's that expensive to run a steam cleaner across the sidewalk once a week.
Needed some serious cleaning.
My experience here was absolutely miserable. My bus from Philly came in late, and by the time we got there, my connection from VA to NC had been long gone. So I had to have my ticket reissued. My ultimate destination was FL.nnAfter waiting another hour, the bus for my new schedule arrived. However, it seemed that there were too many people. From what I gathered, he couldn't fit all of us, so he took who he could and left. Without telling the rest of us who were still standing in line. We were left there with no explanation. Essentially, we were stranded, as the staff could not get a hold of another driver for whatever reason and couldn't tell us when they would get a hold of one.nnI was stuck in Richmond for 14 HOURS before I was able to board another bus headed to FL around 6am. It was the most miserable experience I've ever had. My ticket hadn't been reissued again for this schedule, and this caused even more problems. When we got to NC, they wouldn't reissue my ticket for the new schedule I was on because they didn't do it while I was in Richmond (I asked multiple times while I was still there, they wouldn't do it for me until they knew how occupied the bus would be. That's how I ultimately ended up boarding the bus without a newly reissued ticket).nnThankfully, the bus drivers looked out for me, and made sure I ultimately made it back home to FL.nnI will never take Greyhound again. Please save yourself the frustration, especially if Richmond is on your itinerary. They are severely understaffed and unorganized. Save the extra money and take the plane or the train.
Though the place and all workers has been wonderful I do have a concern for the cafe. I almost missed my bus because only one individual was doing everything. I understand social distancing but the kitchen was big enough to follow the guidelines and allow at lest two people to work. For the register and food. The fact that she was so kind and sweet though im sure she was stressed the woman working there at 11:50am this morning needs a raise for her hard work. I seriously suggest two people working to be able to help provide the proper customer service and serve all the guest in a timely fashion.
