One of my favorite parks I've ever visited, Wilson Park has something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you want to take a brisk morning walk, play some horseshoes, or let the kids play on the playground while you catch up on your new book, Wilson park provides many leisure opportunities to a wide variety of demographics. One of the amenities that stands out the most is the Skate Park. Skateboarders often have a hard time finding a place to enjoy their recreation without harassment from LEO, and it warms my heart to see a community provide a designated space for skaters to go. It's an examples of good problem solving! In addition to the aforementioned activities, one will also find an 18 hole, 60 par Disk Golf course, and a basketball court.
Really about seven acres of woods more than what I think of as a park. Two picnic shelters, one so old it literally may have been built by the WPA. There are swings and some playground equipment, a skateboarding area with ramps, restrooms and a basketball court that may or may not have goals. Open sunrise to sunset.
Nice fun little course. Trees and hills to keep it challenging. It could use some work on the t-pads.
Its peaceful. Not crowded. Great place to take your children to play & pic nic
This is a gem in the middle of a lack luster town. Bike and hiking trails were in great shape. There is ample parking within the park and just outside the gates. The playground is in fair shape. Full basketball court. Shelters with picnic tables and grills. Running water restrooms. And the icing on the cake, a very well built and maintained skate park. This is exactly what a town like Martinsville needs to help it step into the 21st century.
