This is where my great, great grandfather and grandmother were from when it was Museville, Va. Them and more family members are buried at the Christian Church that used to be the Methodist church years ago. My grandfather's Tombstone is the tallest one in that cemetary that dates back in the 17-1800's. The clerks office and the Post Office were once made out of logs. They are now bricked up. My grandfathers house he and his family lived in can be seen from the church. The what used to be dirt roads are now paved, but they are almost too narrow for 2 vehicles to meet at the same time. There is no shoulder to pull off on, just little ditches. The roads wind because of the mountain areas they're in. There are some old barns built out of logs and clay dirt still standing. Some are right beside the roads. You can almost reach out and touch them. It's just neat that some of my brothers and sisters have found where our roots came from and seeing is believing. Theres a cemetary there in a woods somewhere that we went to several years ago. We couldn't find it the other day, but when we went there, my brother and sister had a tombstone made for another great, great, great grandfather and grandmother and a man with the same last name as ours (Oakes) made it, met us there and put it down for us. Their original tombstone, you could no longer read anything on it. That was also very neat. Giving them a new stone that anyone that stumbles across that cemetary can see. It's just a great place to visit. Cant wait to back and take another brother that hasn't seen it yet.
