Beautiful beach popular with dog walkers. Open dawn to dusk. Feels safe but is very isolated, spotty cell service. Clean - almost no trash or debris, some random glass from beer bottles. Not a good swimming location due to rocks, pier points in the water, but good for wading and sunning. Usual rules apply: no alcohol, fires, etc. Definitely recommend for those looking for a place to relax and unwind with few interruptions.

Wonderful, clean, calm, and quiet beach! I was very impressed with how clean the beach was. We saw almost no trash on the beach or in the water. There are plenty of shells around for kids to get excited about. The sand is pretty fine, and it can be a bother to clean out of your belongings, but that could be expected of beach visits. The water was warm, and there appeared to be a fairly gradual change in depth. The surface when entering the water changes from fine sand, to more coarse sand and small pebbles, to muddy sand, to clay-like mud. There are a few tree stumps in the water to watch out for, so I wouldn't plan to do much diving or distance swimming without doing some recon first.nnParking is limited, but there weren't many people when we went and we had no trouble finding a spot.nnWe will be returning many times.

What a great off the beaten path beach. Room for about 50 groups of people. So it is very much a private setting. Perfect for a family outing. Bring a beach canopy and drink coolers, and the bay waters are yours. You will have to drive a little because it is about 25 miles from downtown Gloucester and no stores around.
