Great place! Hornsby House Inn used to be a family house and still has the vibes of it. Its owner Dave was here during the delicious breakfast to explain his family history and the history of Yorktown as well. The location is perfect, just next to the Victory column and with a nice view over river York. You can hang out in the common parts just as if you were at home, there are 2 cosy living rooms. We also got a complimentary glass of wine to enjoy. Such a good experience!
We had a great stay here! The inn looks colonial inside and out but the rooms have every modern feature - nice showers, good WiFi, USB phone chargers, etc. The hosts were very friendly and the breakfasts were large and well-made. Yorktown beach is a short walk away. It’s a nice alternative to staying at one of the Williamsburg hotels.
The host David, was so kind and informative. He made breakfast the one morning and then gave us a history lesson on the house and the battle of Yorktown. It is a very welcoming home, a place to rest and relax. I enjoyed the sunroom immensely and the grounds are beautiful. You will not be disappointed when you stay!!!
There are not enough words to describe how outstanding the experience is at the Hornsby House Inn! Dave and the entire staff are phenomenal! The history, the pristine rooms, and delightful breakfast is a 100% sure way to guarantee customer satisfaction!! My family and I will be returning again and again! The inn is in an excellent location within walking distance of many restaurants nearby. The breakfasts are excellent and the staff is super friendly. Our room was well appointed with everything one might need.
