Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg

I read some of the reviews prior to surgery and it made me apprehensive. However, the personnel, from the receptionist, to the order taker for meals, to the pre and post op nurses, were phenomenal! The hospital was clean, the food was good, and the personnel were professional, friendly and always available. I would recommend this facility to anyone scheduled for surgery in the area.

We are most fortunate to have some of the best Doctors and Staff practicing in our area. Given the large population of Service personnel, Iron workers, commercial divers etc. I'm sure we keep them very busy. Riverside Hospital has the best of the best. I always feel like a valued patient. They always explain my health issues and concerns in a manner that is easy for me to understand. I would recommend them to my family and friends, no questions they are that good! Stay Safe.

This place is top notch!nThe Doctor and nurses were very informative and were genuine.I did not wait long in the waiting room to be seen. Once I got it they started running tests. The staff was very professional. Thank you Riverside for the great care !

I had knee replacement surgery performed by Dr Jeffrey Levy. My surgery was August 26, 2019 and I was discharged August 27, 2019. On August 31, 2019, my surgical leg was swollen from my hip to my ankle and my pain was a level 10. Had to call an ambulance to take me to Riverside’s emergency room in Newport News. Was admitted to the hospital for observation. Gradually, the swelling resided and was discharged the next day with a new pain medication. All went well in the beginning. At multiple follow up appointments with Dr Levy I stated that my knee didn't feel right. I was told everything looked fine and to just give it more time. I followed all of the discharge instructions and participated 2-3 months of physical therapy. All swelling didn't didn't resolve until June 2020. However, my knee never felt right. The first of July 2020, while standing up and saw my knee cap move to the outside of my knee and popped back into place. I sent a copy of this video to Dr Levy and asked if he still felt everything with my knee was okay. At that point he ordered some additional imaging and set up an appointment with another surgeon from his practice. At that appointment, I was told my implant had been mis-aligned during my surgery. And that the first surgery was a total failure and the implant had to be replaced. Initially, I spoke with Riverside’s risk management department. Needless, to say I was not a happy camper. But, surprisingly they were very attentive to my situation. They certainly offered to do the re-vision procedure. But, there is no way I would give them a second chance with the the more complicated surgery needed to replace the first knee. They asked me what I wanted them to do for me. I told them I planned to have a re-vision specialist at the University of Virginia fix their mistake and all I asked them to do was pay any out of pocket expenses for the second surgery. Well, after that all I have heard from them has been the sound of crickets. I WOULD NEVER LET THESE PEOPLE TOUCH ME AGAIN. I HAVE NEVER EVEN CONSIDERED SUING ANYONE IN MY 62 YEARS OF LIFE. I GUESS YHERE IS A FIRST FOR EVERYTHING!
