Beautiful walking trail, nice views of the James River and a lot more private then the main well known areas. It's clean and well kept. You can bring your children and I also see a lot of people with there pets. I love the water and I absolutely love this spot. You won't regret it.
Not as crowded as a lot of hiking trails during the pandemic. Good place to get in a 2.6 mile hike.
The bathroom is gross!
Decent park we were in loop A good for getting away. The site we had was broken pavement and very uneven ground next to it. Bathrooms were kinda rundown. But they were very warm and the water was nice and hot. Archery range on site and lots of hiking to be done. Plus a reservoir to put battery operated boats on, they also have paddle boats for rent!
Great place for family gatherings especially near playground for the kids. There is also a place to go paddle boating and canoeing. I enjoyed walks across the bridge and beside the lake. A great place to catch the sunset.
