Sadly of all our KOA experiences this was the worst. Our cabin shower drain was clogged with tp and hair, the windows did open-broken, the owner was very rude...somehow 2 cabins were booked under my name, I only booked 1 and received 1 confirmation. He insisted on charging me for both cabins. Even after the kind staff had told us it was a mistake and I would get a refund. We were there over Easter weekend, baskets and eggs were hidden for the kids to find d Easter morning...instead they were women buy the owner Gary and 2 kind police officers telling us we had to leave. Gary said you have 1 hour and he walked away. The police were so upset, they had no idea why he was evicting us and as I cried on Easter morning having nowhere to go, they just apologized for his horrific behavior. We were booked to stay until the next day. We even had reservations at the pool on Easter. I have never felt so bad, for the police who tried to reason with Gary, for my kids on Easter. Instead of spending a beautiful day relaxing together, we drove 5 hours home. I would never recommend this unfairly friendly campground to anyone!!!
Great Campground close to everything you'd want to do in Williamsburg! We visited in the fall of 2019. Pool was still open and we were grateful because it was so hot the weekend we were there! They have a great indoor recreation area and the campground is beautiful to just walk around and enjoy the scenery! My kids loved the small metal zipline at the playground...a fun and unique thing to enjoy for them :) Unfortunately, we had to leave a day early, and I couldn't believe how accommodating they were! We got a refund, which I wasn't expecting because we left last minute. The man in the store was so friendly and understanding! He made my day and customer service like that just doesn't seem to exist anymore! I highly recommend this campground!!
Such a little slice of heaven! The fam and I were looking at a safe from COVID place to unwind and we definitely got that and so much more. Since we arrived late and didnt want to setup our tent in the dark we stayed one night in a cabin, then another 3 nights in a tent campsite. The staff was so accommodating and I was so thrilled they could put us in a cabin with no notice. Saved my day for sure:) Our campsite was very large, clean, had tree cover almost completely above us and around us which made the one night it did rain a lot, seem really minimal. We packed nearly everything in the house certain we had everything we needed.... we were wrong lol. We were SO thankful for the large selection of camping, convenience and treats in the campground store. Oh, and don't even get me started on the awesome pool! Was soooo refreshing to take a relaxing swim! Just left 2 days ago and already planning our next trip back soon!
We enjoyed our stay to the fullest. Still talking about how clean and very well maintained the sites were, the staff was incredible, loved talking to Michael , who was very attentive and came several times a day to ask if we needed anything and collected our trash bags. Probably one of the nicest campgrounds we ever stayed on. ... and if you have children with you, abundance of activities. We are definitely going back there when in the area!
Love this campground. Come here every Halloween season and bring a grandchild. Hoping to make it next summer too. Friendly staff. Well stocked store. Plenty for the kids to do. Only negative I have is the wood they sell isn't dryed and very difficult to keep burning. We will be back!!
