We stayed at the Pigeon Run Lodge for 2 nights during Spring Break. It was a little confusing when we arrived because the 2 Lodges didn’t have a cabin number on them just the name. However, our reservation paperwork was the opposite. It said cabin11 but didn’t include the name. They should include the number on the name sign or indicate the name on the paper work. We finally figured it out though. The cabin itself was perfect for our family. The adults (mother and father in-law, brother & sister in-law, my husband and I)were able to have our own rooms. My daughter had her own room and my son and nephews slept in one of the bunk bed rooms! We had another bunk bed room that was not needed. It was great having 3 full bathrooms and full kitchen completely stocked. You do need to bring salt and pepper, towels and all linens. They did have pillows but we still brought our own. We also appreciated that the pillows, beds and furniture was not fabric but a vinyl type material. Everything could easily be wiped and sanitized. My only complaint is the fans, ceiling light fixtures and beams had very thick dust and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a year or more. There were also many large cobwebs on the walls in the living/dinning area. One of our family members is very allergic to dust so that was disappointing. We had a nice hike and enjoyed the shoreline and playground. The beach was closed to replenish sand. Overall we had a great time and wished we stayed at least one more night.

What a nice park! Trails and facilities are well maintained. It will be beautiful in a few weeks when everything is in bloom. Hard to believe that we have lived within 2 hours of the park for 25 years and never been there before. Plan to go back soon.

Stayed in one of the cabins and had most everything you need. The kitchen was well set up to cook and serve a meal. Everything was clean and tidy. Only needed our spices, linen and bath towels. Do yourself a favor and bring an egg crate or foam pad for the bed!!! Do not forget this one detail!! We.did bring our own pillows as well. Make the trip to Lake Anna.. it was well worth it!

Nice walking and hiking trails. There is a parking fee, which isn’t always worth it. Especially when there are larger and nicer state parks in the area you can enter for free. It also reaches capacity quite quickly in the summer as well.

The park is clean. Several families were there fishing and enjoying the water. The beach was closed for repairs and is the only reason I gave the park 4 stars.
