Americamps RV Resort

To only say “we found this to be a nice accommodating campground with very friendly staff” would not be enough. They were very gracious hosts. Each encounter with the staff was a very positive experience with them wanting to make our stay as pleasant as possible. One example of the hospitality (although there were many) is when I was cleaning my truck off from snow to go to an appointment. One of the staff walked over and asked if I would like his help. Afterward, he went on to help with an additional issue I had encountered.nMy wife underwent a stem cell transplant at VCU and we needed to stay nearby as an outpatient (our home is about 2 hrs away). We stayed there a little over a month. They worked with us prior to our stay and continued being interested in our well-being, asking how they could help make our stay here pleasant. I can recommend this campground, particularly to anyone who is going through health issues such as ours, & needing a place to stay. Further, observing their interactions with other guests leads me to believe they treat all their guests with the same hospitality.nRobby

In August we were passing through Richmond, Virginia heading to Pennsylvania when we discovered one of our brake drums on our fifth wheel had locked up. Unable to complete our drive we searched the area for safe RV parks with good reviews near RV supply stores and a Camping World and discovered Americamps RV Resort! When I called Colleen answered and I explained our situation. She was so kind, immediately found us a site (VIP 1), right next to the pool and office, and despite the fact that it was only 10:30 in the morning and well before check-in hours, she said we could arrive whenever we could get ourselves there safely. Once we arrived all of the staff were wonderful. We were offered four different mobile repair groups numbers to get help from and told that completing the repairs in our site wasn’t a problem at all. With the pool right next to our site our daughter had access to swimming while work was being done and there was an onsite snack shop with hot food available, so we didn’t even have to stop and make lunch ourselves that day. We highly recommend trying the funnel fries (funnel cake in French fry form)…they are delicious! And since we arrived on Sunday they were having their free ice cream social as well…not just a meager single scoop of vanilla – we’re talking mint chocolate chip, butter pecan etc., plus cheese cake bites on the side…did I mention free…and such a treat when we were so stressed. So, none of the mobile repair groups were available on a Sunday, but the Camping World, just five minutes down the road was open, including parts…and they had the part we needed in stock. It took us 7 hours to do the repair ourselves, and a couple of trips to the Napa Auto Parts store, also just down the road, but we got it done. And even if we hadn’t Colleen was so sweet and let us know that if we couldn’t get the repair completed on Sunday to just let them know by 11am Monday if we needed the site for another day. For as long as we continue to travel in our RV across the country this will remain our RV Resort of choice in the Richmond, Virginia area! This park also has other amazing amenities, but we were too focused on the repair to take advantage of them. Yes, you will pay resort prices here, but between the amenities and the highest level of customer service it is well worth it.

Super convenient location for my trip. The manager was an absolute dream of a person. And I just love their little campground doggie (I think her name was Lily... but I'm not sure, I could be making that up) everything was clean, convenient, and exactly what we needed. Will definitely be visiting again!

Everything maintained at the highest quality standards. Beautiful ball court, play ground, dog park, and facilities. Outside your RV garbage pick-up. Firewood delivered to site. Professional management! Loved this place. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Extremely nice & helpful person answering the phone, giving us information, etc., excellent customer service! Close to a new development with restaurants about two miles away . . . (we ate at Mexico Restaurant).nnWe called for a stopover pull-through spot heading north. Cable & wifi were great for the few hours we used them . . .but a big drawback for us was the road noise . . we had a really rough night sleeping because of 95 :(
