This place is mid. Portions are pretty sad, cornbread was lame, and food severely overpriced. The barbecue chicken definitely tastes like something you can make yourself.

Best thing about this place was being served by Allen - a third generation Homestead employee with a dedicated work ethic and honest opinions, and aim to please. When the wine we wanted wasn’t available he brought a MUCH nicer glass for the same price, and he steered me away from a fish dish that was of questionable freshness to a trout that was amazing. He went out of his way to accommodate my son’s special pasta order and even offered us some s’mores boxes for the kids to use at the fire pit. He deserved the big tip we gave him and will request him next time we return! The table next to ours was equally impressed with his service. Thanks Allen, you deserve a raise!

My daughters were so excited to take me here for my birthday! There were 3 of us dining. We dismissed the fact we were the only table not to get bread. We told the waiter my daughter had a nut allergy. When she ordered chicken he told us we needed to order a cheeseburger because there were walnuts cooked in the grease the chicken was cooked in. Then when he brought the entrees he did not bring mine. I did not say anything at first because I thought it must be coming. My children finished their meals and the waiter asked if we wanted any dessert I told him no I wanted my entree? And to please bring it to go because everyone has finished eating. Someone different brought it and I asked to see the manager. She said she was the assistant manager. I told her how bad our experience was and she was less than sympathetic. She did offer desserts. I declined because we hadn't eaten my food and I really didn't want to spend another 20 minutes there! Worse birthday dinner ever!!! If you're looking for something special... look somewhere else!
