Waited over three months for an assessment once done I didn’t feel as if the professional was very effective with children.

This is not my own experience but rather that of a friend. It is no less valid for that. She received a routine visit from them following an assault on her person by the father of the children. They discovered that she had a medical condition, one which was being treated, one which was not affecting the children's quality of life, and one which frankly wasn't any of their business. Despite all evidence to support a high quality of life for the children. They were kidnapped and placed in foster care. The problem is, they know that they can get away with taking anyone's child, at any time, for any reason, and they act accordingly. They act bereft of judgment, compassion, empathy professionalism or conscience. They have essentially been given absolute power, and it has corrupted them absolutely.

Sadly ended up in a situation where my family needed to get in touch with DCF. We were assigned a social worker named Matthew H. Mat has been very unhelpful and short with us throughout the whole process. Even knowing the depth of our situation he continues to push us away taking the shortest route possible. I don’t understand why someone that hates this line of work would choose to get into the field. If you’re looking for a caring individual for your family and loved ones, be sure to avoid MAT. Due to Mat being so unhelpful my family has received little to no help from this organization. I hope this isn’t how DCF treats all abusive family situations. Go somewhere else if you can make a way, it’s not worth your love and cared ones getting ignored.nnUpdate: In one of two scheduled meet ups, Matt has called out ‘sick’ moments before what should have been his arrival. Worker(s) here have been unhelpful and have provided little to no additional information which clearly shows lack of interest, care, and responsibility for this line of work.nnI have been greatly disappointed with EVERY interaction with this organization. I hope the internet helps expose you.
