NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!!!!! It has been about 3 years since we had been as a family and the last time our children were younger but still had a very good time. The children’s section was closed due to covidud83eudd26‍♀ufe0f Mom fail for not looking it up ahead of time. We shrugged it off and decided that while we were in Anchorage we would go anyways. My kids are early elementary/middle grades ages. Well our kids got a bit of an education but not in a good way!ud83dude33 The women of the North display was absolutely not appropriate for children. Was there ANY indication at the door while paying for tickets that MAYBE that display was inappropriate for certain ages. Nope! No signs...no warning. I love going to the museum but this is the LAST time we will ever support the Museum in Anchorage. Completely inappropriate. If given a heads up then maybe their would be adult content/art ahead of time this review would look different. But between the children’s section being closed and their inappropriate for children display on women....we paid a lot of money for a few displaysud83eudd26‍♀ufe0f

I love this museum. It has art, northern culture, and so much more. A must visit in Anchorage.

A really nice outing for adults and even young kids, especially the Discovery Center.

Strange.... this place had a couple cool paintings and some cool antique artifacts to see from local tribes. But I don't understand why they dedicated a large portion of the museum to talk about the homeless... and at the beginning no less. Don't they know first impressions mean about and make the lasting memory. Ya i can see Alaska has a homeless problem...I see it right on the streets, I don't want to see it at a museum where I just paid to walk through. That's not art... that is a political problem!! Huge building but not much to look at other than tribal stuff

Being from the lower 48, it was great to visit a museum, that was not just filled with the usual. The cultural and native wildlife exhibits provided loads of information that would otherwise probably never be known or thought of, by those who are not from this region.nnThere is something for everyone, on every level, including interactive displays. A few hours could be spent here easy, and you'd never notice how the time has flown by!
