My experience has been a bit heartbreaking and difficult to say the least. I have been unable to contact them via email or phone first of all. I felt like a stalker I had to call so many times. Finally upon reaching someone I was given a very poor reason that I could not adopt a dog. My fence is not 6 feet tall. It is 5. I understand the reasoning however I have plenty of time on my hands to train and I know what a harness and leash is and how to use one. I’ve moved on and accepted this because I understand they know best however I wasn’t even given an in person chance. Strictly based on my application. I have had the opportunity to see multiple other dogs at other humane societies over the past week with ease who are all wonderful animals but I just have my heart set on this dog at pintler. So I’m going to have move on!nnI would also like to point out that at least five people I know have spoken to me about their experiences adopting animals there and how impossible it is.nnFinally, I have been researching for a pet to adopt for two months now and every humane society in Montana has a very fast turn over getting these pets a happy home. Pintler Pets has had a high number of (the exact same) animals for the duration of my research. Seems a bit strange to me. Give us good folks a chance to bring home a companion to love!

All the one star google reviews are 100 percent on point. They wont return calls or emails and will find any reason they can to deny an application. I feel very sorry for any dog who ends up in this establishment. Everyone involved in the communication and application approval process should be let go. If not, then just shut it down. They are preventing dogs from living great lives. So sad.

I emailed Pintler Pets inquiring about adopting a dog I saw on their Pet Finder profile. I completed my application and submitted it to Pintler.nnLess than a week after I submitted my application, my landlord told me that Rose Fellows, from Pintler, had called her for a reference and to be sure that it was OK for me to have a pet. My landlord also told me that Rose was needling her about the details of my disability; listing one’s employment status is a requirement on Pintler’s application.nnMy landlord told me that she was caught off guard and felt uncomfortable with the questions surrounding my disability that Rose asked and ultimately dodged the question.nnWhat Rose doesn’t know is that my landlord's profession is Human Resources. My landlord knows what kind of information she can and cannot give out regarding my disability.nnAfter Rose’s phone call with my landlord, she didn’t contact me or any of my references. I emailed Rose to ask her who called my landlord for a reference. When I asked why Rose didn’t talk to me first about being disabled, I never got a response. My email tracker report shows that she received my message and read it twice.nnIt was very inappropriate and extremely unprofessional on Rose’s part to try and discuss my disability with my landlord and NOT with me. It feels incredibly discriminatory.nnRose never gave me the opportunity to answer any question she may have had about my fitness to be able to adopt and care for a dog.nI am an excellent candidate for adopting a dog with solid references. And now the dog I so hoped I could adopt is no longer available.

Pintler Pets have been fantastic! I adopted a puppy two weeks ago and they have been very easy to work with. Rose is phenomenal and everyone at Pintler cares a great deal for the animals. When I am ready for my next dog, I will go back to Pintler!

We tried to adopt a dog from here and we had everything in order and are a really good family and wanted a dog for our son but we were not approved because our yard isn’t fully fenced in w a gate. But we had plans to finish the fencing next summer. Total bummer
