The visitor center was very nice. There was a film telling all about the battle. If you did not want to stay for the movie, there were informative sign boards explaining how the battle progressed. From big picture windows you could look out over the battlefield, or you could go out on the deck and view it through binocular viewers. The tipi poles still mark the encampment. They also had a small gift shop and book store. The drive up was beautiful. A very enjoyable stop.

This is def a place worth taking the extra time to go out and see the tragedy that happened here. The National Park service does a tremendous job in preserving the history, maintaining the facilities, the grounds & trails. It is free to enter & they practice social distancing, which is good to see during a pandemic. Lots of great info at the Visitors Center, esp with the half hour documentary film they have. The hikes out to massacre grounds, the siege site and where the cannon was destroyed are must-do’s while visiting. The area is sacred ground and needs to be treated as such.
