Kootenai Clinic Family Medicine Residency

I have on many occasions waited a long time in the reception area. Always a wait in the exam room as well. Dr. Shupe is great, very good at listening. I called the end of June to make an annual physical and was scheduled on September 1st. Paper work was never mailed, as I was told, for the pre blood work, and even after calling to follow up on it...it never was sent. After not getting a reminder call on August 31st, I called them the morning of to confirm. The receptionist, who was not apologetic at all, told me that I wasn’t in the schedule. I then left a message for the office manager....and still no return call. It doesn’t seem that they really care if you remain a patient. I am curious to whether the Dr. even knows that his office staff is so unprofessional and uncaring.

I have been going here for 4 years and absolutely love them. I have had 3 births with them and all 7 of my kids see them as well. I think they are considerate and knowledgeable, especially the residents that are there. I am more of an understanding person and will work with their schedule as they try to work with mine. We have to understand that a clinic is in high demand for patients, so trying to see your doctor all the time is probably not going to happen all the time. I have seen other doctors there and I am pleased with all of them. Of course there is always going to be that one that you don't particularly care for, then find one that suits you and do it with respect.nRecently my doctor saved my daughter and even a new resident. They caught her appendicitis before it ruptured and she's only 7. Despite that they are both residents, I am completely happy with there determination in taking care of me and my family. Most of the nurses are wonderful and they have respect for me and my family.nI've been treated for my pregnancies, my back, my leg, and all my sicknesses (too many to count) and I truly cannot complain for there effort to heal and take care of me.nTo me, I would hands down go here over Kaiser or Northwest. I have bad experiences at both and have not had any scary life threatening situations where Kootenai clinic has never ignored.nThank you to the receptionists, appointment managers, er nurses, RN, NP, doctors, surgeons, and residents for making me and my family trust in good health care provided by you!

Every visit always takes more then 20 mins for the doctor to come in.. for a 10 min check up I spend more time waiting then being see by a nurse and or doctor

It’s pretty sad when you tell people you will give them no-shows for cancelling appointments due to inclement weather and being safe. Pretty garbage move from a doctors office if you ask me.

If you are looking for a great pediatrician, do not see resident Dr. Leah Weatherly. She will contrive every excuse to make you come in and refuse to listen to the specialists that she refers you to when they insist that your child is healthy.
