McCall Vacation Rentals by Vacasa

We booked a cabin for a vacation in McCall Idaho, overall a wonderful experience! The location of the cabin is amazing, the views, the outdoors for the kids to play, wonderful! Cabin is well stocked, very cozy and perfect amount of room for 4 adults and 2 kids. We absolutely loved everything with one exception. I think the bed situation is the only area i would say needs some improvement. Beds alone were uncomfortable and the linens scratchy, not enough to deter us but i think with some work it would be 125% wonderful. Overall it was a great decision to stay here and super happy that we found the property through Vacasa.

Getting into the rental was no problem. Instructions were super clear and Google Maps did actually give us the correct directions to the cabin. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. I only have 2 areas to share about.n1) No where on the rental details does it share that this cabin DOES NOT have AC. On the day of arrival, I attempted multiple times to call the phone number provided through Vacasa for if troubles occur during your stay. Every time I was never connected to a real person and automatically hung up on after. I attempted the email that was provided. I gave them my phone number and asked them to call me in regards to the AC and never received an email or call back. Not even a full day after check out. I am pregnant and this made the stay extremely uncomfortable. Even my dog was panting just from the heat being retained by the cabin. I feel like for health concerns, the fact that there was no AC should have been clearly stated.n2) Very minor, but the fridge is a retro out of date Frigidaire, which is fine. However, the fridge did not keep contents in it very cold and the freezer took 2 full days to freeze.nnFor check out, I received an email the day of to follow a link when ready to check out. This cabin had no wifi (which we already knew and were fine with.). However I was low on data so I had to turn off my mobile data for this trip. I was unfortunately unable to check out. I don't understand why that would be an option for checking out when the rental didn't even offer wifi.nHunter's Paradise is a beautiful cabin with a fun atmosphere to it. However, I will not be staying with Vacasa again in the future solely for failure to communicate and provide detailed information about the rental.

Property was dirty and damaged. Spent the first hour of the stay cleaning.nnThe local reps were miserable creatures barely identifiable as people.nnPhotos of property were cropped to hide that this 'cabin' was in a neighborhood normal for the McCall area, and sits directly near one of its busiest roads.nnJust another firm that exists solely through marketing hacks and hiding behind the business identity to avoid any sense of personal responsibility or pride.nnNOT representative of the people of McCall or Idaho in general.

Accidentally left an item behind at the airbnb we stayed at in McCall and they were not helpful at all in getting this item back to us. Several other inquiries we had prior to our stay were ignored for weeks. Never again will stay at an airbnb that is managed by Vacasa or third party management company. Happy to revise this review if I get any help.

This is not the first rental we have walked into managed by vacasa in McCall that was dirty. We had to clean before we could bring our things in. Mind you, we are in A pandemic. The floors were dirty, chairs, laundry not done and put away (towels, washcloths, etc) no paper towels, trash bags, dirty bathtub, kitchen counter, table dood in the drain, dirty dishes etc etc. when I went to grab a towel for my husband I had to search for it! Oh, it was in the dryer still! Nothing was ready for us. And the compensation of a measly 5% IF we book again, that’s the biggest slap in the face. We took multiple photos and still, nothing to compensate us. What’s the point of paying what we pay if we have to clean it BEFORE we can vacation, Vacasa???
