Awesome place to enjoy and learn more about the local ecosystem for the importance of animals, fish, plants, and keeping the water clean for Lake Tahoe. Level pathways through the forest and over Taylor Creek. Fish viewing in the underground museum to see trout and salmon at certain times of the year. A must see.
Very beautiful walk along a paved trail, with lots of educational information throughout. I'd be interested in seeing the salmon run, from the underwater viewing area, when they are spawning in the fall; the fish are a bit sparse until that time of year. A great place to stop by with all ages, free of charge, and be sure to take a moment to read the signs along the path. Overall a great overview education of the purpose and importance of Taylor Creek, to the bigger picture, of Lake Tahoe. This is a self guided walking tour on paved and boardwalk paths, through wetland and wooded areas, so be sure to bring bug spray! :)
Incredible venue for and amazing educational experience for kids and adults alike. Walk the trail and read the interpretive education sign boards along its length with details explaining the ecosystem and its inhabitants. Definitely don’t miss the underwater fish viewing window—it’s fantastic being able to peer into the lives of spawning salmon!!
Beautiful little park and trail. During the winter, they close it down to cars, but you can go in and walk around and have the place more or less to yourself. Very peaceful, and supposed to be a prime spot for watching salmon in the spring!
We love to visit this place when we go up the hill to Tahoe. Perfect to connect to a part of Tahoe nature that you don’t see just sitting lakeside. Beautiful trails offer views of the lake, mountain, flowers, and critters. The underground creek viewing area is amazing. A must do on any Tahoe trip to enjoy and appreciate the beautiful area.
